Child Protection Summary
Commitment to Safety
Mikael Enriquez is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people). All concerns about abuse or neglect are taken seriously.
Who This Applies To
This applies to all clients under the age of 18 and any whānau or support people involved in their care.
Consent for Counselling
Parental or guardian consent is required for counselling children and young people under 16, except in situations where a serious risk is identified.
Safe Practice
Sessions with children and young people take place in safe, appropriate, and professional environments. Mikael maintains clear boundaries at all times.
Confidentiality and Reporting
While confidentiality is respected, concerns about abuse, neglect, or serious harm may need to be shared with Oranga Tamariki or the Police, as required by law. Mikael is not required to prove abuse — only to report reasonable concern.
Record Keeping
All child protection concerns are documented and stored securely, in line with NZ privacy and health information laws.
If You Have Concerns
If you or your child have any concerns about safety or wellbeing, you are encouraged to raise them directly with Mikael. If necessary, support will be provided to involve appropriate services.
